 Dr.
Maureen A. Muecke is a distinguished Facial Plastic
and Reconstructive Surgeon and teacher. A 1988
graduate of the University of Wisconsin Medical
School in Madison, Wisconsin, she completed her
internship in General Surgery at Tulane University.
A year of research in the department of
otolaryngology-head and neck surgery was next
completed at Tulane. Dr. Muecke finished a four
year residency in otolaryngology-head and neck
surgery at Tulane University. She then took a
fellowship in facial plastic surgery with Keith
LaFerriere, M.D., and Greg Renner, M.D., spending
nine months in private practice in Springfield,
Missouri, and three months in Columbia, Missouri at
the University of Missouri, Columbia.
Dr. Meucke is a Fellow of the Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and is double Board Certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery. Her background in both fields provides the unique expertise and understanding for cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the face, eyes, head and neck.
She has
devoted countless hours of service to the
community. In 1996, she became active in serving
victims of domestic violence by becoming an active
participant in the "Face to Face" Domestic Violence
Program, a pro bono program for reconstructive
surgery. Through this program she has performed
surgery on victims of domestic violence.
She has been
invited as a frequent speaker for medical meetings
and has been guest lecturer and instructor for
foreign and local physicians on the latest
techniques in CO2 laser resurfacing for wrinkle
removal and acne scar improvement.
Dr. Muecke
offers state of the art techniques in laser surgery
and the newest advances in facial plastic and
reconstructive surgery.
